Preference Counts User Guide

Minneapolis Market Research Institute presents a uniquely useful form of research that we call Preference Counts. This research is suitable for use as a method of scanning for opportunities in the 28 major pairs, or, as a confirmation filter for independently obtained trade setups.

Traders should use this research by identifying a resolution appropriate to their trading style and looking for trade setups in which a currency with a nicely positive count (counts of 3 or higher should be sufficient) is bought against a currency with a correspondingly negative count (counts of -3 or lower should be sufficient).

In general the H1 resolution is appropriate for traders looking to setup a trade with a risk in the range of 25-50 pips and first target ranges between 50-125 pips.

The H4 resolution is appropriate for traders looking to setup a trade with a risk in the range of 25-100 pips and first target ranges between 75-250 pips.

The D1 resolution is appropriate for traders looking to setup a trade with a risk in the 75-150 pip range and first targets sitting around 125-425 pips from entry.

The W1 resolution is provided for the sake of development of future resources and so that inquisitive traders have more material to get creative with.
